The time has come ~ He asked, you said ‘YES!’
Once you’ve gotten yourself down from cloud 9 (or not, stay up there as long as you like lovely!) it’s time to start thinking about all of the intricacies that make up a wedding day. We understand that not everybody is a skilled event manager, so when we talk to any new Brides we like to impart a small slice of advice… Organise your venue and your photographer as quickly as you can. They are the two vendors that tend to book out extremely quickly; anywhere from 6-18 months out.
And if you’re keen to find the perfect photographer for you, it’s best to meet with some highly recommended and talented locals to gauge their fit for your special day. You want to make sure there is a connection, and you feel 100% comfortable with them. It’s kind of like going on a first date!
When a photographer refers to her weekend work as “shoot(ing) my client’s magical love stories” you just know she is a passionate wedding photographer! Introducing Rachel from Atomicbutterfly Photography…
Tell us the story behind choosing the name Atomicbutterfly Photography
I have a love for butterflies which along with my passion for photography is how the name atomicbutterfly photography came about.
How long have you been a wedding photographer? Tell us a little bit about the journey you went on to become a wedding photographer.
I started my photography business in 2011 shooting children, families, then moving on to maternity and newborns. After helping a photographer friend out and 2nd shooting a wedding with her, I just fell in love with every little moment of a wedding and I have never looked back.
I took my business to the next level, by setting up a beautiful little studio in West Burleigh, where you will find me most week days shooting. But come the weekends I get out of the studio and get to shoot my client’s magical love stories. A lot of work goes in to shooting a wedding let alone the editing, album design etc but I love re living each wedding over again!
Do you shoot digital and film or simply digital?
I shoot simply digital.
What are your favourite photographic styles when it comes to shooting weddings?
I am passionate about documenting love stories and see your special day as one. I love getting those posed photos but I also love capturing candid shots. So at the end of your wedding day you have a good variety of images.
Can you tell us a litle bit about the packages that you offer for Brides & Grooms?
We offer 3 collections starting from $1980. All collections include two photographers with a natural & candid style. Edited images are high-resolution (edited and without watermarks). And you’ll receive a sneak peek with in 24 hrs on Facebook!
All collections come with a complementary mini engagement photo shoot and a special wood keepsake box. I’d love to meet to have a chat in my studio where you can see more of my work in person!
Do you have a limit of how many couples you book a month? When is the best time to book in?
Most of my bookings are 12 -18 months out from the wedding dates. In saying that though the earlier you get in the less likely you will be disappointed if we are already booked on your chosen date. I only allow 2-3 weddings a month.
What other photography does Atomicbutterfly do?
Pregnancy, newborns, babies, families, children, smash the cake, hand & feet sculptures photo packages and weddings
