Prior to your wedding day you require your Celebrant to be resourceful, creative and reliable. You want them to be able to assist you in crafting your ceremony together and to answer any/all of the questions you may have, either about the legalities or the creative content that will form the focus of your ceremony.
And on the day you want them to be able to command your guests attention while also being a much-needed calming influence on you throughout the proceedings. It’s definitely a fine mix of qualities that only a select few have!
Today we introduce you to another of our lovely Gold Coast vendors, Debbie from Dusk to Dawn Celebrant, as she shares her love of Weddings and the creative process that she gets to share with each and every beautiful couple she works with.
Can you tell us a bit about being a celebrant & how you came to become one?
As a celebrant my mission is to deliver all my couples a professional service in which they will always have a say on their special day. To become a celebrant I did a Certificate 1 course Celebrancy and was registered in September 2007.
What do you love most about being a celebrant?
I love the fact that every ceremony is different as every couple is unique and thus their ceremony should reflect this. In my role as a celebrant I enjoy working with my couples to design a ceremony that meets their every expectation. I encourage them to express their inspirations and ideas so I can provide a tailored ceremony creating a special and seamless experience for them, their families and friends to enjoy and remember forever.
Where are you based and what areas do you service?
I am based in Brisbane. I service all of Brisbane, Gold Coast, Tweed Heads, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba.
Do you have a studio for couples to meet you or do you prefer to meet them elsewhere?
I have a small office where I meet with some of my couples, but I travel to their homes as well or wherever it is easier for my couples to meet with me.
Can you tell us a little bit about the packages you offer and rough pricings?
I have three packages—- Standard Package which is $500. Silver Package $560, Gold Package $590

Do you offer customised vow writing services?
Yes absolutely I encourage my couples to write their own vows and I have lots of examples that they can use for inspiration and the internet of course.
What advice do you have for couples choosing their celebrant?
As I think it is important that couples meet in person any celebrant they may be considering to conduct their ceremony, I believe that an obligation free meeting is imperative so the couple can have a chat to the celebrant about their ceremony in a relaxed environment to help them make a decision if that celebrant is who they feel is the one for them.
How early should couples book with you?
As soon as possible preferably, between 8 to 12 months in advance.
When you aren’t marrying loved up couples what do you enjoy spending your time with?
Going to the theatre and to the movies with my husband, socialising with family and friends, watching my beautiful grandchildren play sport, and watching my beloved netball team The Firebirds play.
What do you think are the upcoming trends for 2016/2017 weddings?
A lot of couples are choosing to have unplugged weddings, researching lots of vendors on line before they contact them, and small intimate and personal ceremonies seem to the trend and I see this trend continuing in 2017.
